Janet Shell and Christopher Goldsack are two consummate, exciting singers who have enchanted their audiences for many years,
transporting them to musical wonderlands in Opera, Oratorio and Recital with an
extensive repertoire, from Bach to Bernstein and Gershwin to Hammerstein.
Janet Shell (mezzo soprano) and Christopher Goldsack (tenor) enjoy an enviable
reputation in all genres. Together as their duo Promenade, accompanied by the remarkable pianist John Flinders, and as soloists, they have worked
extensively around the Globe, winning major prizes along the way. Janet was chosen by
the British Prime Minister to tour with him to Japan, whilst Christopher enjoyed reopening
the famous Teatro Amazonas in the heart of the Amazon Jungle after its refurbishment.
Together, accompanied by John, they were the first singers to perform live on Classic FM radio.
...and the Teachers...
With backgrounds as qualified school teachers, both Janet Shell and Christopher
Goldsack have naturally extended their activities to teaching singing, working with
the young singers and professionals alike.
They have extensive private practices, give
masterclasses and run frequent workshops. As a highly regarded French coach, Christopher
has given classes in French song at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has also
done so at the Royal Academy of Music. He was acting Head of Voice at the London College
of Music.
Christopher has recently set up two exciting new choirs. The Promenade Junior Choir for singers aged 8 to 14 and the Promenade Youth Choir for singers aged 12 to 18. Find out more...
