Belle and two Beaux in modern dress

Founded by the mezzo-soprano Janet Shell, baritone Mark Oldfield and pianist John Flinders, Belle and two Beaux are an exciting ensemble who have already enjoyed considerable success in a variety of venues including the Bath Georgian Festival, Burgh House in Hampstead, Music at Duffield in Derby, The Vine at Basingstoke, Birkenhead Town Hall and numerous other concert clubs throughout England. Since its formation, when all three musicians were studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the group has flourished alongside their independent performing careers in opera and on the concert platform. Each has worked in a wide range of styles from early music to contemporary and light music, reflecting their collective versatility.

'An afternoon of Victorian songs and readings with the title "In Pursuit of love".... was never cloying thanks to the quality of the performance and presentation of the three artists.... The two voices blended admirably in duets by Schumann, Mendelssohn and Sullivan.'
