Death by Murderous Means

The setting is a genuine, if rather stereotyped, attempt to create the ambience of a fading country manor. The 'plot' is loosely related to those older murder/mystery plays which included numerous deaths and a shattering denoument - except this denoument is not as expected.

Mayhem Players' budget is restricted, so a full box set may be unnecessary. Incongruities are present in the set and properties. Wardrobe reflects the ideas of character types. Do not overdo the 'errors'. It is better for the audience to spot them than to have them thrust in their faces.

The key to this sort of play is earnest endeavour thwarted by incompetence. The players and their off-stage support team really do believe that they are good.
